Watercolor and ink houses

WIP video coloring a cute drawing

Posted by Bia Watanabe | 1 de December de 2016 | Creating!, Video, Watercolor

I was imagining colored houses representing my studio, the Bia Watanabe Atelier.

What to paint?

I began by sketching in pencil a few cute little houses. There are shapes that remember quilling pieces, a little dog (Little Bread) in the corner, a window to get enough light from outside. I love the big tree on the side with its little door … who lives in there?

Where to start?

I started this drawing by tracing the lines with waterproof ink and then putting some mask fluid on the drawing. The mask serves to protect the paper and thus not be painted by the watercolor. Then just swipe (I prefer  to use a plastic bag in my hand) to remove it!

Which material?

I basically used Winsor & Newton watercolor.

Which paper?

This paper is from my Moleskine watercolor notebook. It can hold water very well.
